Tomatin 1977 Warehouse N° 6

With patience, comes reward. Forty-two years on our Distillery Manager, Graham Eunson, has declared that the spirit in cask 38863 is in its prime, and ready and to be savoured. This luxury, exclusive whisky is the first in the distillery’s history to be matured in a Sauternes wine cask, resulting in an exceptional explosion of tropical flavours.
Tomatin 1977, a whisky of rare distinction was distilled on September 23, 1977 and bottled on September 30, 2019. At 49%, it matured gracefully in a Sauternes Hogshead, yielding only 390 bottles.
This exquisite expression encapsulates the rich heritage and meticulous craftsmanship of Tomatin distillery.

Tasting notes

A delightful explosion of orchard and tropical fruits set the scene, soon met with bursts of rich vanilla and salted caramel.

Vivacious notes of oak aged Chardonnay, sweet honeysuckle, and baking spice, enticed from the Sauternes cask influence, dance across the palate resulting in a gloriously long finish.
