His legend was instrumental to the independence of the island during the Revolution of the 1890s. The figure of Don Papa is inspired by Papa Isio, though he is not the same person. Cihuatán Suerte is a limited edition rum inspired by the legend of Muwaan Mat, the Mayan god of luck. The Mayan people believed that this god shared the gift of luck through crystals. To harness it, they filtered water with quartz during a sacred ritual, then enjoyed drinks at enchanting celebrations. This bottle, with its beautiful vivid colors, catches the eye. It contains a delicious extra-aged rum, the result of column still distillation, followed by 15 to 17 years of aging in oak barrels, and finally filtered over quartz.
