The HSE Extra Vieux Marquis de Terme 2007 is one of the finest expressions of Martiniquais expertise in the production of agricultural rum.
Aged for more than 11 years in oak barrels, this exceptional vintage then underwent a rare and sophisticated finish of 10 months in French oak barrels that had previously contained the great wines of Château Marquis de Terme, a renowned Margaux estate.
This unique process imparts the rum with remarkably complex aromas, combined with a rare depth that will appeal to the most discerning connoisseurs.
TASTING NOTES :
NOSE: Upon opening, the nose reveals an impressive aromatic richness. Fine and powerful, it expresses itself with generous notes of red fruits and kirsch, quickly followed by delicate hints of precious wood, cocoa, and a subtle influence of Bordeaux wine tannins. This first approach is elegantly counterbalanced by spicy nuances, heralding a most captivating sensory journey.
PALATE: The palate stands out with exquisite roundness, where every element seems perfectly integrated. The entry is indulgent, dominated by flavors of dark fruits like blackberry and black cherry, married with hints of licorice. The harmonious woody aromas, influenced by the wine barrel finishing, bring an extra dimension, enriched by a touch of fine spices (pepper, cinnamon) that gently envelop the palate.
FINISH: The finish is long, persistent, and particularly elegant. It maintains this beautiful harmony between ripe fruits, spices, and wood, while revealing accents of cocoa and toasted vanilla. The slightly tannic undertone, a signature of the wine barrel aging, adds a most refined final touch.
