Each year Bernard Walsh selects a handful of exceptional casks to make this the benchmark for Super Premium Cask Strength Irish Whiskey. This Vintage release selects only the finest distillates of Single Pot Still & Single Malt Irish Whiskey, matured in exceptional American Oak casks. Non-chill filtered, this whiskey is a full-bodied, high strength, flavoursome whiskey, with just 3,000 bottles created. Bottled at an impressive 54.5% ABV. A bold and complex dram.

Tasting notes

Nose
Slightly sweet but with a dry entry, caramelised molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, spices and flowers, buttery nuts (macadamia, hazelnuts, etc.) supported by a delicious blend of tobacco, leather, barrel charcoal and oak.

Palate
Spicy, paradoxically sweet and dry on the attack, with hints of citrus, dried fruit and flowers, nuts, persimmon, medium to full-bodied.

Fine
notes of oak, pepper and vanilla mingle with ginger, leather and tobacco. Finish Medium-long, with a dry, spicy finish.

Produced from 100% French malted barley. Double distilled in the Charentais abysses of the Merlet distillery, then matured in association with new and old French oak barrels. The result is a delicious, round, fruity and floral whisky with spicy notes. "Coperies" means "harvest" in an ancient local French dialect.
