Old Pulteney Huddart

Matured in second fill American oak, ex-bourbon casks, then finished in ex-bourbon casks that had previously held a peaty whisky.

Pulteney distillery is located in the town of Wick in Caithness, far north east corner of Scotland on the rugged costline, only 16 miles away from John O’Groats, wich is the most northerly point on the mainland Britain. The name Wick derives from the Norse ‘vik’, which means a bay and emphaises the area’s Viking Past.

Matured in second fill American oak, ex-bourbon casks, then finished in ex-bourbon casks that had previously held a peaty whisky.

Foodpairing tip: Mojo prawns.

|TASTING NOTES|

Color
Rich gold.

Nose
Rich and warming. Brimming with mellow wood smoke, honey and oily lether at first, to later bloom with crisp green apple top notes. Creamy vanilla and a hint of burned toffee in the background.

Palate
Freshly-ground spices and soft vanilla balance the central notes of wood smoke and peat fire. There are both richly sweet and distinctly coastal chords in the background, together reminiscent of salted caramel.
