While the Tomintoul distillery is well-known for its laid-back expression (earning the nickname "the gentle dram"), it also produces a line of heavily-peated whiskies released under the Old Ballantruan name. This expression, launched in mid-2018, features smoky whisky matured for at least 15 years before bottling at 50% ABV.
The Vercors Distillery is located in an old 16th century farm. It is the only French whisky distillery whose bottlings are certified in Organic Agriculture and distilled at low temperature.
The "Nautilus" wash still distills gently at only 50°C, instead of the usual 100°C. This sublimates the aromas of the malted barley and gives this Whisky elegant and subtle aromas, rich in seductive fruity and floral notes.
