The spirit was sourced from Southern Jamaica’s Clarendon Distillery, which lies on one of the oldest sugar cane plantations on the island and is one of only four producers in the country. Renowned for crafting some of the most flavourful and intense rums in the world, Jamaica has been a hub of rum production since the 17th century.

Matusalem Gran Reserva 15 Y
Produced in the Dominican Republic, Matusalem Gran Reserva is a Cuban-style premium. Aged in a solera system, it remained in barrels for about fifteen years. Sweet and spicy at the same time, it is marked by notes of zest of oranges, banana, vanilla and cinnamon. Little sweet compared to many other current rums, it remains light and easy to drink.

Tasting notes
Nose
Slightly sweet but with a dry entry, caramelised molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, spices and flowers, buttery nuts (macadamia, hazelnuts, etc.) supported by a delicious blend of tobacco, leather, barrel charcoal and oak.
Palate
Spicy, paradoxically sweet and dry on the attack, with hints of citrus, dried fruit and flowers, nuts, persimmon, medium to full-bodied.
Fine
notes of oak, pepper and vanilla mingle with ginger, leather and tobacco. Finish Medium-long, with a dry, spicy finish.
